# Terms of use

Last updated: 2026-10-05.

These terms cover your use of the Levelrail website at levelrail.com and the Levelrail software. Levelrail is published by GLINCKER. By using the website or the software you agree to them.

## The software

Levelrail is open source under the [Apache License 2.0](https://github.com/glincker/levelrail/blob/main/LICENSE). The license, not this page, governs your right to use, modify and distribute the software. In short, you may use it commercially and privately, but it is provided without warranty, and you must keep the license and copyright notices when you redistribute it.

## No warranty

Levelrail is pre-release software. As the Apache License states, it is provided "as is", without warranties or conditions of any kind. You run it on your own servers and you are responsible for your infrastructure, your data and your backups.

## Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, and as set out in the Apache License, the authors and GLINCKER are not liable for damages arising from your use of the software or this website.

## Trademarks

The Levelrail name and logo are used to identify the project. The Apache License does not grant permission to use project names, logos or trademarks except to describe the origin of the software. If you fork the software, please use a different name.

## This website

The documentation and website content live in the project repository and are covered by the same license unless a page says otherwise. We try to keep the content accurate, but features change quickly in a pre-release project, so check the [feature status](/feature-status) and [roadmap](/roadmap) pages for what is currently supported.

## Third-party links and services

The site links to services we do not control, such as GitHub and Discord. Their terms and privacy practices apply when you use them. The software can also connect to services you configure, such as git hosts, certificate authorities, registries and cloud providers.

## Security

If you find a vulnerability, report it through the [security policy](https://github.com/glincker/levelrail/blob/main/SECURITY.md) instead of a public issue.

## Changes

We may update these terms as the project changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
